‘Air View of Downtown Cleveland – the Famous Terminal Tower, Public Square and Winding Cuyahoga’
Keystone View Company
c.1930
When it opened in 1930 the Terminal Tower in Cleveland was the fourth tallest building in the world. It stands on top of the Cleveland Union Terminal. The large open area is the Cleveland Public Square laid out as part of the founding of the city in 1796 by Moses Cleveland. Just visible in one of the quadrants is the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument, dedicated to those killed from Cuyahoga County during the American Civil War.
